Do You Know?
Approximately 1.6 million candidates write Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) annually, it has been estimated that 65% of those who write the examination fails and 60% of the 35% who passes end up failing post UTME again. In other to reduce this menace, IJMB was initiated to offer a solution.

This also indicates the annual population of prospective 100 Level students in Nigerian Universities. The competition is high owing to the limited vacancies available in these institutions. On the other hand, DIRECT ENTRY mode is less competitive. The entry requirements for this mode include A/Level Exam, NCE, ND, HND and Bachelor Degrees. A/Level Examination offers the best of both sides: duration and admission; and IJMB/JUPEB programme has a leading edge. Hundreds of thousands of students have gone through the programme since its inception, and had completed their degree programmes in their chosen universities, both home and abroad.

IJMB and JUPEB is valid for life (it has no expiry date) compared to JAMB(UTME) that expires immediately after the admission and matriculation

IJMB Examinations are highly respected and recognized by various higher institutions both in Nigeria and abroad. The certificates/results are acceptable in increasing number of institutions in the country. The Federal Government, through its various educational agencies, recognize IJMB as an examining body for both Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations. The syllabus is approved by the National Education Research and Development Council (NERDC) and the IJMB examination result are listed among the acceptable modes of entry in the JAMB brochure.

For many decades, Nigerian higher institutions have been admitting students with IJMB results into their undergraduate programmes. This page is intended to list the institutions (specifically, the universities) that presently accepts the IJMB A/Level certificate. This list is not exhaustive, and we hope to keep it updates. In this regard, we encourage you to check your JAMB brochure for IJMB Acceptability in your school of choice.
